So, plantain. You look like a banana, but are more like a potato. Starchier and tougher, you could actually be the best friend of schabowy. Would it not be more fun, though, to pair you with spices and turn into an exotic dish? Correct. Take a frying pan. Heat oil. Sauté an onion sliced in stripes. Add plantain cut into cubes or slices. Add a mixture of ground spices: anise, cloves, cinnamon, chilli powder (I grind them myself, except the last one). Also, add sugar. Stir and fry until carmelized. I also poured in a bit of madera. Wonder if this works with potatoes as well.
